Dayton-Geschwindigkeitsminderer sind darauf ausgelegt, Geschwindigkeit und Leistung zu optimieren und gleichzeitig die Lebensdauer der Ausrüstung zu erhöhen. Diese Einheiten verfügen über einen Motor, der die Kraft auf die Eingangswelle des Untersetzungsgetriebes überträgt. Das Untersetzungsgetriebe wandelt die Leistung in eine niedrige Ausgangsdrehzahl um und überträgt sie gleichzeitig über die Welle auf eine angeschlossene Last. Diese Einheiten verfügen über ein Gehäuse aus Gusseisen, das für strukturelle Steifigkeit und Festigkeit sorgt. Sie sind mit Schneckengetrieben ausgestattet, die eine hohe Drehzahluntersetzung ermöglichen.
